We are a small but mighty collection of creative explorers!

Our story began with an idea.
Grew into a place where imaginations run free and friendships blossom.
Since 2003, this cozy little studio has been a space where creativity thrives and young artists are encouraged to dream big. Formerly known as Purple Dog Art Studio, it’s been passed from artist to artist—each one adding their own spark. In 2024, local artist and educator Audrey Kuskowski gave it a fresh name and a new look as The Marigold Studio—a place where creativity and community collide. Here, everyone is welcome to form friendships, grow in confidence, and let their creativity bloom.
Our after-school art classes are now known as the Purple Dog Program, honoring the heart of what started it all. Designed for students in grades K–8, this program gives kids a space to explore their creativity, make messy masterpieces, and grow at their own pace. It’s warm, welcoming, and full of artsy adventures. Join the fun anytime!
We offer art camps during summer, winter, weekends, and school breaks that give kids space to explore painting, clay, sculpture, and all things messy and magical. Every project is designed to help kids connect, express themselves, and find joy in the creative process.
And of course—we love to celebrate all the things! We host painting parties for all ages—whether it’s a birthday, team event, or just a fun excuse to gather your favorite people and make something together. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity, and we’ll handle the rest.
Whether you’re five or ninety-five, if you like to make things with your hands and heart—
you’ll fit right in.
MEET AUDREY KUSKOWSKI, OWNER
Audrey’s creative escapades started as early as preschool, with her imagination running wild and her hands diving into all sorts of messy, marvelous materials. By high school, she was painting self-portraits with pencil shavings mixed into acrylic paint and covering her room in wallpaper made from photos, magazine clippings, and collected mementos. She’s the kind of person who can turn a pile of random supplies into a masterpiece—or at least a delightful mess.
She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Columbus College of Art and Design and proudly graduated in 2014. She strutted out with her diploma ready to conquer the world!
Over the years, Audrey’s professional life has been a blend of teaching, mentoring, and sparking joy in creative spaces. Most recently, she was affectionately known as “Miss Ski” at New Albany Primary School, where she brought positivity, imaginative energy, and unwavering support to kids and staff alike—until she made the leap to pursue her dream full-time.
In 2024, Audrey became the proud owner of the studio formerly known as Purple Dog Art Studio and reimagined it as The Marigold Studio—a space where creativity and community collide. She is now combining her artistic talent with her keen understanding of children’s developmental needs to create a space where imaginations thrive. The studio is a haven where young minds and adults alike are free to explore their creativity and artistic potential. With her commitment to top-notch instruction and a personalized approach, The Marigold Studio will continue to be a beloved fixture in New Albany’s arts scene.
When she’s not at the studio, Audrey’s green thumb keeps her busy in the garden, and she’s often found with her dogs, Ellie and Josie, by her side. She believes in the magic of art and nature, and how both can inspire, educate, and bring people together—no matter their age.
Audrey’s story is one of boundless creativity, genuine warmth, and a sprinkle of whimsy. Through The Marigold Studio, she’s on a mission to make the world a more colorful, connected, and creative place—one artistic adventure at a time.
